YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN

Luke 8:22
Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth. [KJV]

DEVOTIONAL AUDIO: http://bit.ly/20A1uPH

I am particularly interested in the life story of a mad man who caught the attention of heaven. He was insane for years, every effort to help him failed and he could not be chained, it was so bad that he harmed himself regularly. It was in this helpless state that Jesus found him and he was healed.

Luke 8:26-27
And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee.
And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs. KJV

If God remembered this mad man forgotten by everyone, know that He has not forgotten you. If He cares for the birds and lilies; He cares even more for you (see Matthew 6:26-29). Do not give in to despair, help is on the way.

There is someone reading this devotional today: You want to begin to engage in something you know is evil because you are tired of hoping and waiting on God. This is the word of the Lord for you today “help is on the way, hold on."

Go into today knowing that God has not forgotten you. He crossed the lake and calmed the storm just to reach a mad man. He will do same and even more for you. He will come and save you, just lift up your eyes to Him.

Prayer: Lord, let your help locate me in Jesus name. Amen. Not yet saved? Tap: http://bit.ly/1iTOmol

FAITH SUPPLEMENTS 3

2 Pet. 1:8
For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. [ KJV]

DEVOTIONAL AUDIO: http://bit.ly/1RRwhWI

Why are some believers barren or unfruitful though they have known the Lord Jesus as Savior? It is because certain 'supplements' are not in their faith, or these 'supplements' are not abounding. Let us consider two more of these vital 'supplements' as mentioned by Peter the apostle in 2 Peter 1:5-10.

Patience: Or Perseverance. It also means 'ability to wait'. The life of faith is about waiting on God. Heb. 6:12 says we inherit promises when we add patience to faith. When we wait on God, our Christian walk is strengthened. (See Isa 40: 29-30).

Godliness: or God-likeness. To be godly is to behave like God. Jesus Christ showed us a man could behave each time like God and He has empowered us to do same by His resurrection power. We must put this ability to use, that is why godliness is likened to exercise (1 Tim. 4:8).

Our main text today has a background where Peter mentioned grace and diligence. See 1 Pet 1:2,5. As you rely on God's grace completely, make the effort to add these attributes in your walk with God.

Go into today, waiting on God to fulfill all His promises while you seek to behave like Him each time.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I receive grace for patience and godliness. Let me live the fruitful Christian life. Amen. Not yet saved? Tap: http://bit.ly/1iTOmol

SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS

1 John 1:8
If we say we do not bear the guilt of sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. [NET]

DEVOTIONAL AUDIO: http://bit.ly/1ZXvjaR

A man prayed like this: “Lord, you know that I am no sinner. I have lived righteously before you all these years. Unlike that man there, I pay my tithes and offerings, and I always do what is right…”
The man he looked down upon was crying to God for mercy and grace. He was the one whose prayer was acceptable before God (see Luke 18:9-14).

Even though we are to have unshakable assurance of salvation, Christians are never to be self-righteous. A self-righteous person thinks he has done enough to deserve God’s grace and goodness. He uses his own standards to compare himself with others and gives himself a pass mark. He does not know that God does not judge according to human standards.

A person who has been saved by grace is never self-righteous. He realizes that his righteousness comes from the Lord; that his ability to do what is right is credited to the grace of God that is at work within him (see Phil 2:13). He admits his imperfections because he walks in ever increasing grace that continually reveals higher dimensions and standards of light and righteousness.

As you go into today, determine to walk in the grace of God and not in self-righteousness- the two do not work together.

Prayer confession: I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. My sins are forgiven because of Christ’s precious blood. I am walking in the light and pleasing God in all respects, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

THE GIFT OF GOD 2

Rom 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. [KJV]

DEVOTIONAL AUDIO: http://bit.ly/1SkErpb

Chief Mmehie was a very powerful and wicked slave master. It so happened that everyone born into the Uwa village was now born into his compound, and this meant slavery. He was so wicked that by the time a person served him for a lifetime, he would reward that person with a delicious meal that has been poisoned. He paid his slaves with death.

King Idịmma was infinitely more powerful than Chief Mmehie. He sent his son to go and save all the villagers of Uwa village from Chief Mmehie’s slavery. King Idịmma’s son first infiltrated the slave compound like a slave, but later revealed his true nature when he permanently destroyed the great gate of Chief Mmehie’s compound. He announced to all the slaves that they were now free to go; that his father had built houses and Vineyards for all of them and they were now going to live in freedom as princes. Some of the slaves believed and followed him but many of them did not believe. They were deceived by Chief Mmehie’s lies and remained in his compound as slaves.

This story illustrates the reality of the human condition. God has given us the gift of eternal life, but many are still under the deception of the devil. They are still slaves of sin working for death. The only way out of this slavery is to believe in Jesus and follow Him.

As we go into today, let us determine to follow Jesus all the way. Let us also pray for all those we know who are still under the slavery of Satan through sin.

Prayer: Heavenly father, thank you for your grace. I ask that you send saving grace to my loved ones who have not yet accepted your salvation, in Jesus name I pray. Amen. Not saved? Tap: http://bit.ly/1iTOmol

THE GIFT OF GOD

Rom 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. [KJV]

DEVOTIONAL AUDIO: http://bit.ly/1PRkt0M
*SPECIAL PRAYER FOR THE SICK IN TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL AUDIO

Wages are different from gifts. You work to earn a wage, but a gift is received not because you worked to earn it, but because of the benevolence of the person giving it.

When a gift is given to you, all that is required is that you receive it.

Today’s Bible verse shows that the wages of sin is death. The payment for living a sinful life is death. Unfortunately, every human being born into this world was sentenced to living a sinful life. But praise God! He has given us the gift of eternal life so that we might inherit life instead of death. All we have to do to receive this gift is to believe in Christ Jesus the Son of God. God has indeed given us eternal life, and this life is in His son (see 1 John 5:11).

A wage is different from a gift. Death is different from life. The wage is death, but God’s gift is eternal life. Isn’t it great to find out that God has given us the gift called eternal life instead of the wage called death that we all worked for while we lived in sin?

Go into today thanking God for His gift of eternal life. This gift contains all things pertaining to life and Godliness: it contains all the things you need to live a Godly and fulfilled life (see 2 Peter 1:3).

Prayer confession: I receive eternal life. I receive all things I need to live a blessed, fulfilled, Godly life in Jesus name. Amen. Not saved? Tap: http://bit.ly/1iTOmol

THE ‘FORGOTTEN’ PROPHECIES

Matthew 2:6
‘And you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are in no way least among the rulers of Judah, for out of you will come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.’” [NET]

Devotional Audio: http://bit.ly/200fDJ8

Today’s Bible verse was a long forgotten prophecy concerning Bethlehem. It was so forgotten that the king needed to first consult the scholars before knowing about it. But, it came to pass in the fullness of time.

There are certain words that God may have said concerning you, and yet time has passed, many waters have passed under the bridge, but the prophecies did not seem to come to fruition. Today’s mediation is to you that may feel hope is lost; you have expected and expected, but your delivery didn’t seem to come. God’s word for you this season is that your day is about to dawn. The prophecy concerning your greatness is being fulfilled from this day. You are walking into the great days of your life in Jesus name.

Go into today remembering that the Lord watches over every of His word to fulfill it (see Jer 1:12). Though it may tarry, it will not fail. It will come to pass, If you faint not (see Hab 2:3). Go into this season looking out for your testimonies.

Prayer Confession: I know that God will make a way for me. He is my provider and my portion in the land of the living. Every word He has said concerning me will surely come to pass in Jesus name. Amen.

FAITH SUPPLEMENTS 2

2 Pet. 1:10
Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall [KJV]

Audio: http://bit.ly/20nEcwu

It is not the will of God that you should be on-and-off in your walk with God. Once you have been saved and washed in the blood of Christ Jesus; renouncing the old nature of sinful life, God desires and has equipped you with grace to be stable and strong in your new life. More so, we are encouraged to make our calling sure by constantly adding certain 'supplements' to our faith.

First on the list is Virtue. Virtue means 'goodness' 'moral excellence' or 'good character'. Let it be said of you the believer; 'he/she is a good person'.

Next is Knowledge. The believer is likened to a king and priest (see Rev. 5:10). The king and especially the priest are custodians of knowledge (see Prov. 31:4-5; Mal 2:7). We as believers should seek, retain and dispense true knowledge based on the Word of God.

Temperance is the third 'supplement' to our faith. It means self-control, discipline, restraint and moderation. As believers, we should be controlled by the Holy Spirit. The Spirit-controlled person will enjoy stability in life (see Rom. 8:6).

We shall consider the other 'supplements' next time. Until then, go and live the stable Christian life in Jesus' name. Amen.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, work on my heart. Make me a good person indeed. Help me to know You more. Let Your Holy Spirit control all my affairs. Amen.

2 PETER 1:8-10
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. 10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall [KJV]

Food supplements are concentrated sources of nutrients whose purpose is to supplement the normal diet. They are intended to supply vitamins or other nutrients in sufficient quantities that may not be readily available in an average meal. Though, food supplements are usually in capsules, they are not drugs.

Our study today is based on the statements made by Peter the Apostle in 2 Peter 1. Let's take a look some of these key statements;

2 Pet.1:5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith...

He went on to list seven attributes; virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness and love. We shall call them 'Faith Supplements', making faith the 'normal diet'.

Now take note of these other statements by Peter as seen in our main texts and paraphrased below;

* If these 'faith supplements' in you, you shall never be unfruitful.

* If you lack them, you are as good as still in your old sin; unsaved.

* They make you established in faith and you will never fall.

Go into today believing there is divine power in Christ for you to live the infallible life.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I ask that you multiply your grace and peace in me. Increase my knowledge, Lord. Amen.

ENSLAVED BY SIN?

Romans 6:16
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? [KJV]

Tap this link for devotional audio:http://bit.ly/1K1QdDK

Dare got to a point that he started to wonder whether he was still born again. He had literally been enslaved to certain sins, and it’s looked impossible for him to come out of them.

Dare had been enslaved by these sins because he yielded himself to them from time to time. The unclean spirits responsible for those sins had enslaved him and he was now demonized even though he was a Christian.

He received deliverance when he opened up to his pastor. His pastor prayed for him and delivered him in the name of Jesus. He maintained his deliverance by living a disciplined life and avoiding appearances of His past sins.

As we can see in today’s Bible text, spiritual slavery to sin is real, and when a person is delivered from such, he must yield himself to righteousness and become a slave of righteousness, or else, he will end up being a slave of sin all over again.

When by the help of the Holy Ghost you chose to walk righteously in all you do, you are yielding yourself to righteousness.
As you go into today, remember that it is those who please God that see His face. Righteousness pleases God and sin displeases Him.

Prayer: ask the Lord to make you a slave of righteousness and deliver you from every bondage of sin. Amen.

SEEKING GOD

Psalms 63:1-3
O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; to see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. [KJV]

Devotional Audio: http://bit.ly/1RX7VLJ

The reason for depression and inconsistencies in our joy and peace as Christians is because we are, many a time, trying to use God as a means to get our needs met, rather than making Him the core of our lives, the center of our joy and the desire of our hearts. Jesus Himself should be the greatest pursuit of our lives.

This was the continuous desire of David. He said in psalms 42:1 'as the hart panteth for the water brooks so panteth my soul after thee, O God'. Little wonder God called David a man after His heart.

God is the reward of being a Christian and not just the blessings He gives (see Gen 15:1 in KJV); for the reward of being in a relationship is the person you are in the relationship with and not what the person can give. Our walk with God is measured not by how much ‘blessings’ we have, but by how much of God’s presence we carry. God wants us to derive our happiness and joy from Him and not from the blessings He gives.

Go into today desiring to know God more. In His presence there is fullness of Joy and at His right hand there are pleasures forevermore (Ps 116:11).

Prayer: Father, I ask for grace to desire and seek you daily. Help me to always know that you are the source of my joy, in Jesus name I pray. Amen.

HOW TO PUT ON YOUR NEW NATURE

1 Corinthians 1:30 (KJV)
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.

Audio Devotional: http://bit.ly/1naLll9

A young ruler asked Jesus what he'll do to have eternal life; Jesus told him “keep the commandments". Very excited he said “I've kept all the commandments right from my childhood days." Jesus then said, “sell all that you have, give it to the poor, then come and follow me." The ruler walked away sad. He still loved his riches a little more than he wanted to follow Christ.

Some Christians are comfortable when they're told to observe certain rules and commandments, but like the young ruler, they walk away whenever the truth is told; they are not really ready to follow Christ.

Living a righteous life is not by the keeping of rules, regulations and commandments. Even though a righteous person is a moral person, righteousness is not morality; it is more than what the mind can produce. Righteousness is God's gift and only He can make a person righteous.

1 Corinthians 1:30 shows us that Christ is the one who make us righteous before God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin by dying on the cross for us". But you have to believe in Him and follow Him in order to activate this in your life.

Go into today remembering that God is the one who makes you righteous because you now follow Christ. Put on your new righteous nature by loving God above everything else

RIGHTEOUSNESS BY GRACE

Galatians 2:21
21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. [KJV]

AUDIO VERSION LINK: http://bit.ly/1nkoqEN

Sharon: Now that I’m a Christian, How can I be truly righteous and free?

Evelyn: that is a very good question. You see, holiness is something that without it you cannot see the Lord. If you want to be righteous, keep the Ten Commandments, read and understand the laws of God, and follow the laws of our church. When you do these things, you will he righteous before God.

Even though Evelyn had a good intention, she couldn’t be more wrong. She was not showing Sharon the way of righteousness, she was showing her the way of legalism and bondage to laws.

Evelyn should have said something like this: ‘accept Jesus as your Lord and savior, and be baptized in the Holy Spirit. Walk and live in the Spirit; study God’s word and pray regularly to enhance fellowship with God who is your father. Come to church and hear God’s word- it is able to renew your mind and make you become like Christ because the hearing of the word transmits grace'.

Our Bible text today’s shows that it is possible to frustrate the grace of God in your life by trusting in rules and regulations as a means to accomplish righteousness. The grace of God transforms us from within and empowers us to be righteous naturally.

Go into today renouncing every form of legalism that seeks to frustrate the grace of God in your life.
Prayer: Ask the Lord to cleanse you from every mindset that hinders grace. Amen.

PUT ON YOUR NEW NATURE 3

Ephesians 4:24 (NLT)
Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.

Devotional Audio: http://bit.ly/1S177n8

Growing up for Jerry was very rough, he'd lost both parents at age two and grew as a teenager wearing torn cloths, sleeping on the street and sometimes eating from the waste bin. An elderly rich woman had pity on him and took him in. She gave him a room; wardrobe filled with new cloths and a big bed. This was the first time in years he saw a bed.
Jerry wasn’t used to this new life and would still sleep on the bare floor; he even still wore the same old torn clothes. This became an embarrassment to the wealthy old woman who took him in.

Just like Jerry, a good number of Christians today still live in their old life even when Christ has given them new life. Today’s Bible text reads “put on your new life". This life is yours once you've accepted Jesus as your Lord. You simply need to make the resolute decision to put on your new nature; trusting in the Holy Spirit to help you- He always does.

Go into today knowing that the new nature (life) is already yours but you have to put it on and this is only by the help of the Holy Spirit. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you put on your new nature.

Pray this Prayer: I shake off all the remnants of the old nature in my life in Jesus' name.
I put on the nature of Christ in its fullness in Jesus' name. Amen. Not saved? Tap: http://bit.ly/1iTOmol

PUT ON YOUR NEW NATURE 2

Rom 6:10-11(NLT)
When he (Christ) died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. 11 So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.

Audio Devotion: http://bit.ly/1nd5o3b

Pastor John explained to Omeiza that everything Jesus did, He did for us. Jesus lived for us, died for us and resurrected for us. His glory is also for us (the Church).

Think about it, what glory do you think Jesus was exalted into after his death that He did not have from the beginning of creation? He striped himself of His glory and became flesh so that we too might have life and glory through His resurrection.

It is interesting how many Christians believe that Christ died for them, but they stop there; they fail to believe that He also resurrected for them and is glorified for them. Christ died for us to deliver us from our sins; His death put to death our sinful nature; His resurrection brought to life His godly nature within us, and His glorification guarantees our glorification.

Somebody reading this is receiving a healing today because Jesus has already paid for it. There is another person reading this devotional that is receiving a miracle of provision and abundance today.

Go into this day with renewed assurance that God’s grace is available for you. He has made all things you need available for you through Christ Jesus (see 2 Pet 1:3).

RETAINING GOD IN OUR KNOWLEDGE 2

Click this link to read the complete devotional: http://bit.ly/1UYaQB7
Mat. 4:3-4
3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. 4 But he answered and said, it is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. [KJV]

Download Devotional Audio: http://bit.ly/1U3aPfe

Temptation is another way the enemy seeks to dislodge God from our minds. He came into Eden and tempted Man. Many times, he would come twisting the words of God. Like when he said to Eve, 'Did God really say...?' (Gen. 3:1). Hence the need to understand and believe God's word. The enemy is so skilled at creating doubts in the believer's heart that the scripture warns 'Let he that thinks he stand take heed, lest he falls' (1 Cor 10:12).

So we are up against an enemy that the Scriptures call 'more subtle than any creature' (Gen. 3:1), 'the tempter' (Mat. 4:3) and 'great deceiver' (Rev. 12:9). That is why we need the whole armor of God to retain the knowledge of God. His tempting strategy is three-dimensional. According to 1 John 2:15-16, the tempter comes through the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life.

Whenever we overcome temptation, our knowledge of God is not only retained. Our knowledge is enriched.

Go into today with the grace to sense temptations and to avoid them.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, please lead me not into temptation, but deliver me from the evil one, in Jesus name. Amen.
